making a dream come true

i always want to be a better seamstress. i ve started making some attempts to make clothes for my little Sugar.

which was made without thinking much, the gathered bottom part was quite weird. wonky wonky. my first time trying it out, anyway. and Nurul Sugar had difficulty putting it on through her head. So tight, i didnt make it larger than her head, just enough, and needed a hard pulling through. lol. suffered. i actually took a sample from one of her dress which the material was knit-stretchable. duh. while that blue polka dot fabric was actually i found in my stash... from way back when.. bought to make some pillow cases (a project was never started) BUT i think she likes new dress ..she was grinning all along.. just NOT in the pic. haha

this one was made out of my boyfriend's Winston T shirt. bought at bundles' . hehe it was never fit. and it was still alright. thick fabric. so i thought of making boatneck big t shirt for night sleep. but the boatneck was not a success and the neck cuff was thick too. i added a bow just for fun. hmm outcome was not fun looking.. too plain. i will definitely alter this when i get my serger.. SOON! ha!!

i made this dress in 2 nights. of course, Nurul Sugar usually sleeps soundly and i can sew :)

it was cut A-line. i originally wanted it as a shirred dress. BUT. my being a beginner - the elastic thread was not kind to me. :(  after i sewed 1 row with elastic thread at the top part, it broke after i stretch it out. or shouldnt i do that? hmm... anyway, if she would wear it, that elastic supposed to stretch out right. uh.
i tried a few times but to no avail. so my solution was, nevermind the elastic thing-no shirring shirring- just forget it lah! i inserted an elastic band through the seam at the top. and then i prepared 8 strips of fabric, sewn together to make the straps for the shoulders. and i made a matching simple diaper cover from the same fabric. oh. btw, the fabric was the viscose cotton yang bebulu bila basuh tu. not supposed to be that pricey but  i got it for RM40! i didnt know at first, and just a few weeks after i got the fabric from someone at my workplace, i stumbled across the same type of fabric at pasaq malam. patut kat pasaq malam , only RM25 for 4 meters. i felt like i was robbed !! T..T

at least Nurul Sugar is happy with her new dress. Sugar help ibu make better clothes for you okay. how? be healthy, nice and happy always.

i will get a serger as i have been wishing for for several months now. i will get this one, InsyaAllah. a friend at school has more than 1 sergers at home. i bargained and asked for installment too (^o^). since she was so kind, we came to an agreement. yippie! tunggu gaji la pulak ....

mesin jahit idamanku. ( yeke? :D)
